Auction for Kathleen

by Kaitlyn Keely

Chicago Creative Coalition’s immediate past president, Kathleen Kearns, is battling HER2+ cancer. Unfortunately, one of the realities of this cancer is you are never cured: you hope for long periods of remission, and each test – which are done frequently and regularly – ushers in another round of anxiety and worry. And, she has just been diagnosed with a separate, and much more aggressive melanoma.

There is also the financial burden: Kathleen, like many creatives, has a high deductible (that resets to $0 each year) that must be paid before benefits kick in. To give her some support, Kathleen’s friends in the creative community are holding an on-line auction of artwork, creative services and collectibles.

We need your help!

We need a number of auction items to make this fund-raiser a success. You can do your part by donating artwork you created (or artwork done by others that you own), your creative service, or a unique collectible. If you can help Kathleen, please go to the Help Kathleen Beat Cancer donation page and register your donation.

The on-line auction is open for bidding on Thursday, September 23 at 7 p.m. central time. Bidding will remain open until Thursday, September 30 at 7 p.m.

Auction Closing Streaming Event

Thursday, Sep. 30 at 6:30 p.m., join emcee Brent Rolland of Fig Media, Kathleen Kearns and artist-donors as we countdown the minutes to the auction closing at 7 p.m.

You can also make direct donations to Kathleen at her GoFundMe page.
