C3 Artists Exhibit at Dandelion Gallery

Eight talented artists from Chicago Creative Coalition (C3) will participate in Artwauk (pronounced art walk), Waukegan’s monthly art show. Their work will be on display Saturday, April 21, at Dandelion Gallery from 5:00–9:00 p.m.

Artwauk has been a monthly event since 2011 when a team of artists, volunteers, city staff, and Waukegan Main Street staff coordinated a grand opening for new businesses that opened on the same block. The artists continued to help property owners by cleaning and renovating empty story fronts that were then turned into art galleries. This led many potential store renters to see the property while enjoying the art show. Every space that was converted to a pop-up gallery has full-time business tenants.

Dandelion Gallery is a non-profit artist co-op. The gallery, dedicated to exhibiting quality art, is an integral part of Artwauk, regularly changing its show to keep its patrons engaged and excited to see new art every month.

The eight participating C3 artists are:

Carolyn Aronson, stone figurines;

Cindy McEwen, handmade glass jewelry/paintings;

T. J. Hine, reclaimed wood framed mirrors;

Nate Marks, paintings;

Warren Perlstein, photography;

Laura Marie Sanchez, mosaic/stained glass;

Robert Tolchin, photography;

Mary Wagner, drawings.

More than 30 galleries and businesses will participate in the Artwauk. There will be a trolley to move patrons around the galleries. Dandelion Gallery is located at 109 S. Genesee St., Waukegan, IL 60085.
