C3 Artists Raise Funds to Benefit Creation of Women’s Shelter

imageSeveral Chicago Creative Coalition artists donated their work for a silent auction to benefit ShelterHer, a fundraiser in support of the creation of a women’s shelter. The Garden Party event was held July 10 by the Polish American Assn. C3 artists Heather Aitken, T. J. Hine, Mary Kay McCaw, Laura Marie Sanchez, and Mary Wagner donated their art for the cause. With over 100 attendees, the artist’s helped raise over $12,500.

The event was held outside the law office of Robert Groszek at 3601 N. Pulaski. Jennifer Groszek and Jill Arena were chair and co-chair respectively. Guests enjoyed food supplied by LaVilla, Delightful Pastries, and Fannie Schmoe’s Bakery. Other sponsors included Dahlia Blooms, Stanley Stawski Distributing, S3 Securities–Mary Beth Gerlach, The Copernicus Foundation, Neighborhood Parents Network, and Vivo Masks.

The Honorary Host Committee included 45th Ward Ald. John Arena, 30th Ward Ald. Ariel Reboyras, Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan, State Comptroller Judy Baar Topinka, Cook County State’s Attorney Anita Alvarez, State Representative 19th District Robert Martwick, President of the Polish Museum of America Maria Ciesla, and President of the Women’s Bar Assn of Illinois Eugena Whitson-Owen.
