Chicago Artists Month

Chicago Creative Coalition is is excited to participate in Chicago Artists Month with featured neighborhood Portage Park!

On October 4–6, 2013, creative works from C3 members George Berlin, Robert Tolchin Mary Wagner and others will be on display. This work will help us explore the notion of Creativity as Identity.

Along with the exhibition, we will have special events. Please join us for this weekend of arts, discussion and fun. All events are FREE!

Creativity as Identity

Often creative people feel like they have to live fractured lives: they do “fine art” in their free time, and do “commercial art” to pay the bills. Through an exhibition and panel discussion, Chicago Creative Coalition takes a look at easing or erasing this boundary. “Creativity as Identity” will feature member artwork that runs the gamut between fine and commercial. An Opening Night panel discussion will feature artists talking about how they deal with this traditional duality, and how this impacts their notions of Identity.

  1. I would love to attend the opening and show perhaps two of my paintings. Please advise if this is possible AND if so, where and when may I drop them off.

  2. Great Joey! Please remember C3 members will be asked to show one fine art piece and one commercial work piece. Once we have the details, we will let everyone know, but hanging will be sometime Thursday, Oct. 3.
