Break out of Your Shell

February 17, we get some fresh ideas on how to stay on your toes for pitches, meetings, and innovation at Expose Yourself: Break out of your Shell – Improv for Business with Mark Carter and Greg Werstler. They will help us bust down the walls with performance exercises and ways to use improvisational techniques for business and creativity.

unnamedMark J. Carter creates mentoring events, programs and opportunities. He is the founder of ONE80, LLC and the creator of Idea Climbing™; a process to help people and organizations create experiences where they gain advice, support and connections from each other and their networks which is based on 15 years of research and interviews with thousands of amazing people.  These were and are some of the most successful people in their fields from serial entrepreneurs and NY Times Bestselling authors to multi-platinum artists and improvisers (and more).

Mark attributes much of his style for presentations and interviews to the Improv world.  He spent a year in the Improv Olympics (iO) intensive training, helped with the Chicago Improv Festival for three years and currently serves as the Strategic Marketing Director for Chicago Improv Productions.

The purpose of Mark’s presentations and projects is to demystify mentoring, break through the myths and give you and your organization a process to improve communications to grow your career and build your business. He can be reached at

gregGreg Werstler uses both sides of his brain as the Director of Creative Sales, CFO for ComedySportz Chicago.  He has been working in the theatre, entertainment and training arena for more than 20 years.  Whatever the job, Greg’s approach to success is to build ensemble; whether it’s on stage, in sales or in business.  Listening, clear communication and supporting your partner are the keys to achieving any goal.  Greg is also a director of more than 20 Chicago productions including several productions in the ComedySportz series CSz Crew Adventures.  Greg is an Ensemble Member of Stage Left Theatre where his directing credits include: Keys of the Kingdom (world premiere), A Day in the Death of Joe Egg (Jeff Recommended), Impenetrable (world premiere), and After Ashley (Jeff Nominated).
