T. J.’s eye for detail, composition, and design is based on a Fine Arts degree from Edinboro University in Pennsylvania, where he minored in photography.
He is an active member of Chicago Creative Coalition, an educational and networking organization designed to serve communication arts professionals. T. J. has served as president of the organization and currently serves on the board as director of special projects.
A native of upstate New York, T. J. makes his home in Chicago’s Old Irving Park neighborhood with his wife and a rescued mutt, spending the winter months rehabbing and restoring a circa-1890 Victorian home. He is a member of the Old Irving Park Association, a civic organization working to preserve the interests and better the quality of life for homeowners. He designs and produces the association’s 64-page neighborhood newsletter each month.
The summer months are spent skydiving at a small airport in Ottawa, Illinois, where T. J. celebrated his 4,200th jump and 28th year in the sport in 2012. With five medals from the National Skydiving Championships to numerous state skydiving formation records, T. J. spends his drop zone time organizing and designing skydive formations for experienced jumpers and coaching novice jumpers. He also holds a world record certificate for the largest formation of 246 jumpers.
When on the ground, T. J. enjoys the game of golf – years of playing have resulted in worse language and slightly better scores.
